Biography

George Mason (d 1996) was a rugby league football player, and later coach, for the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs club.

A Canterbury local junior, Mason played three seasons for Western Suburbs Magpies between 1927-1929. He then spent a number of years captain-coaching in rural N.S.W. at Barmedman and at Central Newcastle before returning to Sydney. His final year as a player was 1936 at the relatively new Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. He coached the side the following year, prior to Jim Craig. He is recognized as the Bulldogs 41st ever player and their third ever coach. George Henry Mason died on 5 February 1996.
