George Anderson (born 25 December 1953) is a Scottish former professional footballer.
Anderson played as a defender for Morton between 1969 - 1981 and 1985 - 1987. He is 8th of the club's all-time list of appearances with 280 and was selected by then Scotland manager Tommy Docherty for a South American tour with the senior Scottish squad prior to the 1974 World Cup. On 1st December 2017, Anderson was inducted in to the Greenock Morton Hall of Fame along with Douglas Rae (businessman) , Billy Steel , Jimmy Gourlay , Hal Stewart, Jimmy Holmes and the 1978/79 squad.
