Biography

Frank W. Putnam (born August 3, 1917—November 29, 2006) was an American biologist and author, honored as a Distinguished Professor at Indiana University in 1974. In 1970, he was made a Guggenheim Fellow and, in 1973, Churchill College, Cambridge honored him with an honorary degree and was also then made a member of the National Academy of Sciences. In 2013, the Frank W. Putnam Research Fellowship was named in his honor.
