Biography

Francis Little (February 23, 1822 – January 6, 1890) was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly and the Wisconsin State Senate.

Biography

Little was born in County Fermanagh, Ireland (in what is now Northern Ireland) on February 23, 1822. He moved to Mercer County, Illinois in 1842 and to New Diggings, Wisconsin in 1844.

In 1851, Little married English immigrant Susana Fawcett. They had ten children. Little died on January 6, 1890 in Linden, Wisconsin and is buried in Mineral Point, Wisconsin.

Career

Little was elected to the Senate in 1870 and re-elected in 1872, 1873 and 1874. Previously, he was a member of the Assembly in 1864 and 1865. Additionally, Little was Chairman of the Mineral Point Town Board (similar to city council) and a member of the Iowa County, Wisconsin Board of Supervisors. He was a Republican.
