Flynn Downes (born 20 January 1999) is an English professional footballer who currently plays as a midfielder for Ipswich Town. He made his debut on 5 August 2017, coming on a substitute against Birmingham City.
Biography
Flynn became a schoolboy player with Town during the 2012-13 season, and he became a full academy player with Town in July 2015, signing a two-year scholarship, before he was offered another one-year deal for the 2016-17 season.
After impressing during pre-season, he signed a new three-year deal with the club , which runs to the summer of 2020, before making his senior debut against Birmingham City on the opening day of the 2017-18 season.
Flynn Downes was named in the England U19s squad for friendlies against Poland and Germany in September 2017. Downes made his debut in the latter, starting the game and playing 60 minutes in a 3-1 defeat to Germany.
