Biography


Filipe Teles is a political scientist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Social, Political and Territorial Sciences at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, where he teaches courses in the fields of Public Policy and Political Science. Presently, he is acting as Prorector for Regional Development and Urban Policies at the University of Aveiro.

He holds a PhD in Political Science and is a member of the Research Unit on Governance, Competitiveness and Public Policy (GOVCOPP), where he has developed research work on governance and local government, territorial reform, political leadership and innovation. Filipe Teles participates in several national and international projects and is the author and co-author of several articles in international journals of reference.

He is a member of the Portuguese Association of Political Science (APCP), the Political Studies Association (UK), the International Political Science Association, and he is currently member of the Governing Board of the European Urban Research Association (EURA) and of the Steering Committee of the Local Government and Politics Standing Group (European Consortium for Political Research).
