Biography
Fernando Lucas Martins (born March 3, 1992), more commonly known as Fernando, is a Brazilian footballer who plays as defensive midfielder for Spartak Moscow.
Club career
Youth
Born in Erechim, Fernando rose from the Youth Department after being a national champion U-20, 2009 by Guild. He was named as one of the leading players of the Guild conquest crowned double winner in the category. Early development was evident in competition based club gaucho, highlighting the strong intensity, powerful and accurate shot, and good output match. He specializes in kicks.
Grêmio
On January 24, 2010 made his professional debut in the Campeonato Gaúcho Gremio in 2010, entering the second half in place of Tully. The match was against Veranópolis Sports Club and finished 1–1 at the Olympic Stadium in Porto Alegre, with the goal scored by striker Jonas gremista.
Shakhtar Donetsk
On 13 June 2013, Fernando signed a five-year contract with Shakhtar Donetsk. The transfer fee was reported to be 11 million Euro.
Sampdoria
On 6 July 2015 Fernando was signed by Italian Serie A club U.C. Sampdoria for €8 million. He made 33 league appearances, scoring four goals, for the club.
Spartak Moscow
On 19 July 2016, Sampdoria confirmed that Fernando had been sold to Russian club Spartak Moscow for around €12 million.
International career
Fernando was called up by Brazil for matches against Iraq on October 12 and Japan on October 16.
