Biography
Evert Azimullah (born 21 August 1938) is a Surinamese diplomat, politician, and writer of Indian descent. He served as the Surinamese Ambassador to the Netherlands.
History
In early 1960s he came to the Netherlands where he came in contact with the Surinamese Youth Association Manan, the Hindustani counterpart of the Creole Association of Suriname, where he was active. In collaboration with Harry and William Lutchman he wrote a book on Anglo-Indian immigration to Suriname which was published in 1963.
Azimullah, together with Ganpat, started a trade in tropical products. Afterwards, he turned to study in political science in Amsterdam. In 1971 he got finished his doctorate. In 1986 he published a book about the President of the Hindustani Progressive Reform Party (VHP), Jagernath Lachmon.
