According to CIA files released in 2015 Isselhorst was not executed in France but set free to work for the CIA against the Russians during the cold war along with many of his comrades. The French execution papers were false.Dr Ernst who Isselhorst worked under but who was never caught was found iving in Leer in Scleswig Holstein in the 1980s and was prosecuted by the French after Germany revoked his lawyers licence,he died of old age before being tried. Isselhorst under his codename is reported as living in France and part of a CIA ex SS officers spyring in Russia.Damian Lewis's book Nazi Hunters.
