Biography
Enrico Mazzola (* 7 April 1944) was a Italien footballer who played for FC Basel. He played mainly in the position as Striker, but also as midfielder.
Football career
Mazzola joined FC Basel in 1962. On 15 April 1963 the Wankdorf Stadium hosted the Cup Final and Basel played against favorites Grasshopper Club. Two goals after half time, one by Heinz Blumer and the second from Otto Ludwig gave Basel a 2–0 victory and their third Cup win in their history. Mazzola played his league debut in the home game against Biel-Bienne in the Landhof as Basel won 3–2.
Between the years 1963 and 1966 Mazzola played a total of 41 games for Basel scoring a total of 8 goals. 17 of these games were in the Swiss Serie A, two in the Swiss Cup, four were on European level and 18 were friendly games. He scored three goal in the domestic league, one in the Cup of the Alps and the other four were scored during the test games.
