Elizabeth Cowie

Elizabeth Cowie is a British academic and author, professor of film studies at the University of Kent.
Cowie a degree in history, politics and sociology. After university, she found work in publishing, and from 1972-76, was editorial assistant for the Screen.
In 1982, Cowie joined the University of Kent to teach on its new film studies programme. Since then, the department has become one of the country's leading university centres for film studies.
