Biography

Eleonora Carrillo is a Salvadoran model who participated in the 44th edition of Miss Universe pageant, held in Windhoek, Namibia.

Early life and education

Carrillo was born in San Salvador. Her father was the son of the Salvadoran ambassador to the U.N. He met his wife Beatrice Alamanni de Carrillo when he went to school in Turin, Italy. Her mother then moved to El Salvador. After becoming a naturalized citizen of El Salvador, she became a ferocious defender of human rights. In 2001, she became Attorney for the Defense of Human Rights, created after the Salvadoran Civil War, until the end of her term in 2007.

Eleonora graduated in Law from Turin University in Italy and from the University of Castilla de la Mancha in Spain.

Miss Universe 1995

In 1995 Miss Universe, Carrillo reached the semifinals; making it the first time El Salvador was placed in a Miss Universe contest since Carmen Elena Figueroa did it in 1975.
Although she had the highest score in the interview session, she had the lowest score in both the swimsuit and evening gown portion, which ultimately cost her a spot in the top 6.

Later career

After her education, Carrillo practiced in Turin-area law firms specializing in civil law matters.

In January 2011, Carrillo moved to the company's Madrid Office, where she presently heads the Trademark Division.
