Biography
Donald Lawrence Brenneis (born February 2, 1946) is an American anthropologist, who is professor of anthropology at the University of California, Santa Cruz and served as president of the American Anthropological Association in the period 2002–2003. He has worked in linguistic and political anthroipology specializing in the culture and society of Fiji, particularly Fiji's Indian community.
He carried out undergraduate studies at Stanford University before entering graduate school at Harvard University where he did his PhD dissertation under the supervision of Klaus-Friedrich Koch, Keith Kernan and Claudia Mitchell-Kernan.
