Biography

The Most Reverend Dominic Joseph Conway (1 Jan 1918–22 Aug 1996) was an Irish Roman Catholic clergyman who served as the Bishop of Elphin from 1971 to 1996.
Dr Conway was born in Longford and was educated at Summerhill College, Sligo, the Pontifical Lateran University, the Pontifical Gregorian University and University College Dublin. He was ordained in 1941.
Msgr Conway served as spiritual director from 1951 and from 1965 Rector of the Pontifical Irish College, Rome until 1968.
