Biography
Dimitris Drikakis was a Professor of Fluid Mechanics and Computational Science at Cranfield University ), a research scientist, and an inventor. He was Executive Dean, Faculty of Engineering at the University of Strathclyde, Glasgow. His research covers a broad range of engineering and applied physics topics, including fluid mechanics, heat transfer, computational fluid dynamics, computational nanoscience, and nanotechnology, with applications to aerospace sciences, mechanical engineering, and applied physics.
He was honoured twice with the William Penney award by AWE in recognition of his research in Computational Fluid Dynamics and Compressible Fluid Dynamics. His research has greatly advanced the design physics and engineering capabilities of the aerospace and defence sectors.
