Biography
David Yosef, (b. 1957) is the head of the Yachveh Da'at Kollel, the chief rabbi of Har Nof, and sits on the Moetzet Chachmei HaTorah.
David is a member of the Shas Council of Torah Sages.
Views
- Reform Judaism: David has called followers of Reform Judaism "literally idolators," and says they are "not Jewish." He criticizes reform Jews for building temples he believes look like churches and for trying to be like non-Jews. "The Reform are the biggest fighters against Zionism. They do not believe in the coming of the messiah. For generations they erased any mention of Zion and Jerusalem in their prayer books."
- Mikveh use by non-Orthodox: David criticized an Israeli Supreme Court ruling that Reform and Conservative Jews may used government sponsored mikvehs.
- Kotel: David views the Kotel as belonging to Orthodox Jews only, and deplores Reform Jews embedding their "impure prayers" into the wall.
