Biography

Clayton Byron Simmons (October 11, 1876 – July 24, 1922) was an American football and basketball coach.

He served as the head football coach (1908–1909) and head basketball coach (1909–1910) at the University of Northern Iowa (then known as Iowa State Teachers College) in Cedar Falls, Iowa.

He later served as the head football coach at Truman State University (then known as North Missouri Normal School) in Kirksville, Missouri from 1910 to 1911.

Simmons was a 1904 graduate of Colgate University.
