Biography
Christopher Morgan (born 31 August 1942) is an American TV and movie producer and production manager, known for his work on Quincy M.E. (1977), Miami Vice (1987), and CHiPs '99 (1998).
Early life
Christopher Morgan was born Christopher Thomas Bratsburg on August 31, 1942, in Los Angeles, California, to Eileen Detchon and actor Harry Morgan. He has three brothers: Charles Morgan and Paul Morgan (both attorneys), and Daniel Morgan (died 1984).
Career
Morgan launched his production career in 1973, as an associate producer on the TV series Police Story. After working in the associate producer capacity for 22 episodes, he became the producer for the next 21 episodes through March 1975. In 1974, he produced the TV movie The Girl on the Late, Late Show (starring Don Murray, Bert Convy, and Yvonne De Carlo).
Over the following years, he produced a wide range of successful TV series such as Hunter (1977, 9 episodes); Quincy M.E. (1977, 11 episodes); MacGruder and Loud (1985, 12 episodes); Glitter (1984-1985, 13 episodes); Miami Vice (1987, 8 episodes); and The Young Riders (1989-1990, 5 episodes).
His last TV movie as a producer was romance-drama Remember Sunday (2013). The film was directed by Jeff Bleckner and had Alexis Bledel, Zachary Levi, and Merritt Wever in the lead roles.
As a production manager, Morgan worked on 23 TV movies/series, beginning with Too Scared to Scream in 1984 to Broad Squad in 2015.
Personal life
Morgan was married 3 times. His first marriage was with Nicole Pechoux from 25 May 1968 to 4 May 1976. The marriage ended in divorce and they had 2 children together: Terence N. Morgan (film crew, art department) and Jeremy Morgan (film crew, transportation Department).
He then married actress Julie Cobb on 1 January 1978. The marriage ended in divorce on 25 February 1985; they had a daughter Rosemary Morgan, who is also an actress.
In May 1989, he married his current wife Elizabeth Morgan.
Trivia
His father, Harry Morgan, appeared with his future father-in-law, Lee J. Cobb, in How the West Was Won (1962).
