Biography

Charlotte Knight (8 February 1894 — 16 May 1977) was an American film and television actress and screenwriter known for her roles in Martin Kane (1951-54), Lux Video Theatre(1954-55), and Sugarfoot (1958-59).

Life and career

Knight was born on February 8, 1894, in Wisconsin. She made her screen debut in 1945, in a minor uncredited role in The Clock starring Judy Garland and Robert Walker. 1950 saw her television debut in an episode of the TV series The Big Story. In 1951-54, she was seen in various roles in four episodes of the TV series Martin Kane.

Knight's last screen credit was director Rolf Forsberg's short film Names of Sin, alongside Nancy Ann Nelson and Lisa Atkinson.

As a screenwriter, in the 1950s, Knight wrote for five short movies:

  • The Story of 'Little Red Riding Hood' (1949)
  • The Story of 'Rapunzel' (1951)
  • The Story of 'Hansel and Gretel' (1951)
  • The Story of King Midas (1953)
  • 20 Million Miles to Earth (1957)
