Charles Reynolds (November 15, 1839 – February 2, 1914) was a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly.
Biography
Reynolds was born on November 15, 1839 in County Longford, Ireland. In 1860, he moved to Madison, Wisconsin. During the American Civil War, he enlisted with the 12th Wisconsin Volunteer Infantry Regiment of the Union Army and eventually rose to the rank of captain.
On April 9, 1870, Reynolds married Mary Mahan, daughter of Asa Mahan, a noted clergyman and the first President of Oberlin College. They had five children. In 1875, Reynolds settled in Jacksonport, Wisconsin. He died on February 2, 1914 while vacationing with Mary in Biloxi, Mississippi.
His brother, Thomas, was also a member of the Assembly. He was the uncle of the politician John W. Reynolds Sr.
Assembly career
Reynolds was a member of the Assembly during the 1903 and 1905 sessions. He was a Republican.
