Chanel Capra

Chanel Capra (born 25 June 1978) is an American screenwriter, actress and film producer.

Early life and family

Chanel was born on June 25, 1978, in New York City, New York. She is of Italian and Dominican descent. Her father was in jail for most of his childhood before his eventual shooting to death in 2003.

She is one of the four children, and her siblings are also in show-business:

• Francis Capra, her brother, is an actor
• Asa Capra, her brother, is an animator and illustrator
• Ava Capra, her sister, is a Los Angeles based model and actress.

Career

When Capra family was living in New York, Chanel’s brother, Francis Capra, was discovered by Robert De Niro and Chazz Palminteri when they were casting for the film A Bronx Tale. Francis got the role of 9-year-old Calogero Anello in A Bronx Tale.

This event brought Chanel closer to the film industry and she interned at The Shooting Gallery, a production company, based in New York. The family moved to Los Angeles, as Francis became more involved in acting. While in Los Angeles, Chanel attended a screen writing program at the Writer's Boot Camp.

In 1995, she had a brief role in Dwight H. Little directed film, Free Willy 2: The Adventure Home. Her brother, Francis, played the role of Elvis in the film.

In 2001, she played the character of Rosio in Nora's Hair Salon II

In 2005 and 2008, she wrote and co-produced In the Mix (with ,Ron Underwood) and Nora's Hair Salon II, respectively.
