Biography

Cecile Arnold (1891 or 1895–1931) was an American silent film actress and Zigfeld Follies girl.

Life

She was born in Louisville, Kentucky in 1891 or in New York City in 1895. Born Cecile Laval Arnoux, the blonde known for playing femme fatales was a Ziegfeld Follies girl before moving to Mack Sennett's Keystone Studios in 1913. She appeared in at least fifty films with notables such as Charlie Chaplin, Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle, Mack Swain and Charlie Chaplin's half brother Syd. She ended her film career in 1917 to marry a banker and relocated to the Orient where she died in Hong Kong of a particularly virulent strain of influenza in 1931.
