Biography

Carl Liam Piergianni (born 3 May 1992) is an English footballer who plays as a central defender for NPL Victoria side South Melbourne.

Career

Piergianni studied at Stanground College, and was playing in the Peterborough and District Youth League for his boyhood club Powerleague in the Under 16 league when he was scouted by Peterborough United. He joined Peterborough's youth system and two years of progress saw him named Under 18 Player of the Year.

In December 2009 he signed on work experience loan with Spalding United, where he went on to make six appearances.

After being named in several first team squads towards the end of 2009–10 season, in May 2010 he was awarded a one-year development contract by the team.

For the 2010–11 season, he was awarded a first team squad number 17. He made his Football League debut on 10 December 2010 as a 95th-minute substitute in a League One match against Rochdale.

On 31 December 2010, he joined Altrincham on work experience. He made his debut for the club the next day, playing the entire match against Wrexham.

On 10 August 2011 he joined Stockport County on a free transfer. Carl scored his first, (and second), senior goals when Stockport drew 3–3 with Hayes & Yeading on 5 November 2011.

He was offered a further deal by the club in May 2012 but did not agree terms and left the club at the end of August.

In October 2012 he joined Corby Town on non-contract terms. In May 2013 he signed for Boston United.

In January 2017, Piergianni signed for Australian club South Melbourne F.C. in the National Premier Leagues, Australia's second division.
