Biography

Bryan Mahoney (born July 30, 1972), best known by his stage name, Big B, is an American rapper currently signed with Suburban Noize Records as a solo artist. Along with John E. Necro, he performs vocals in the rap rock band OPM, which is also signed with Subnoize.

Biography

Early career

Big B was born Bryan Mahoney in Upland, California and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada. He started out in a Las Vegas-based band, 187. He was an original member of the bands Spade Brigade and OPM, as well as one of the co-founders of Controversy Sells.

Suburban Noize Records Deal

The Kottonmouth Kings met Big B through freestyle motocross events. DJ Bobby B, D Loc, and Richter occasionally met Twitch, Scummy, Metz, and Dawes, who were good friends with Big B.

Bobby B, Loc and Richter praised Big B and his band OPM to the Subnoize leaders, including Daddy X. Subnoize listened to OPM and were very pleased, but unfortunately, the band was already signed to a major label; Atlantic.

After enjoying the label, Big B decided to sign a deal. Within a week he met Mellow Man Ace and Bronek while in the studio. Ace from Ice-T's camp attended the Sub Noize office and heard some of Big B's work in which he expressed his interest in the artist. This ultimately resulted in Big B's debut solo album under Suburban Noize Records known as High Class White Trash.

Since then, Big B has released multiple albums, including three with OPM. He has also collaborated with The Dirtball and Subnoize Souljaz. In addition, he was featured on the track "Keep It Simple" for Blaze Ya Dead Homie's album, Clockwork Gray.

Big B and The Dirtball also collaborated on an all-exclusive song called "Check Royalty" for the "When There's No More Room In Hell Volume 1" compilation which was put out on SugarDaddy Records, an independent label fronted by the band Wolfpac's front man Daddy Long Legs.

In 2009, Big B released a duet with Scott Russo from Unwritten Law called "Sinner", which peaked at #23 on Billboard's Alternative Songs. It also received radio play.

Big B has been an underground heavyweight since he debuted on the scene with ‘High Class White Trash’ in 2004. However, he made his presence known in the mainstream in 2009 when his single “Sinner”, which featured Scott Russo from Unwritten Law, exploded in the Alternative Rock radio format and became the anthem for that summer, garnering heavy airplay from the world-famous KROQ amongst others. Big B has become known for his raw and honest style, likening him to a modern-day Johnny Cash yet blending in his own elements, namely hip-hop, alternative rock, country and even a laid-back reggae vibe. ‘Good Times and Bad Advice’, Big B's latest album, sees the Las Vegas rebel build upon the success of his smash previous effort ‘American Underdog’ and touts some of the industry's biggest names as featured artists – Everlast, Cisco Adler (Shwayze, Whitestarr) and Scott Russo. Continuing to expand his image to diverse audiences, Big B has also entered into a partnership with Madison Square Garden to feature the album's title track in the legendary venue's summer advertising campaign. Big B has also been a regular cast member on the A&E television series INKED, focusing on his work at the Hart & Huntington Tattoo Company in Las Vegas alongside his friend and freestyle motocross icon Carey Hart. INKED became one of the most viewed television shows in A&E's history and brought Big B an entirely new fan base. In 2007, he also was one of the must see acts on last years Vans Warped tour.

The Suburban Noize Outlaw will continue to expand his career and push musical boundaries while also staying true to his underground roots. With touring already planned alongside groups such as The Expendables, Everlast and Kottonmouth Kings, Big B also plans to remain a road dog and bring his high-energy live show to fans across the globe. The hard-hitting lyricism, anthemic choruses and catchy guitar-infused beats of this record will captivate fans of such diverse artists as Eminem to Sublime and Unwritten Law to Willie Nelson.
