Aulus Caecina was the Roman general in charge of the Roman army of Germania Inferior during the mutiny of 14 AD and the subsequent Roman retaliation campaign (from 14–16 AD) against a Germanic alliance in the aftermath of the disaster at the Battle of the Teutoburg Forest. The first and twentieth legions were under his command. In 15 AD Caecina was awarded triumphal honours for his military achievements against the Germans that year.
