Ashok Ramji Wooike

Ashok Ramji Wooike is a member of the 13th Maharashtra Legislative Assembly. He represents the Ralegaon Assembly Constituency. He belongs to the Bharatiya Janata Party. In June, 2015, he was nominated on the state level committee that selects awards to individuals and organisations in the field of tribal welfare. His victory was amongst the five seats won by the BJP, that resulted in the Indian National Congress (INC) not being able to win a single seat in Yavatmal district once its stronghold. In 2009 he had unsuccessfully contested as an independent candidate, losing to Vasant Purke of the Indian National Congress.
