Biography

Arthur W. Leissa is an American scientist specialised in the vibrations and dynamics of continuous systems fields.

Education

Arthur Leissa obtained his PhD in 1958 in the Ohio State University.

His work

The activities he is involved in imply:

  • effects of corner singularities
  • shallow shell vibrations

Professor Leissa is a member of the American Academy of Mechanics (which he presided in 1987-88) and ASME. Since 1993, he is the Editor-in-Chief of Applied Mechanics Reviews.
