Biography
Ari Harow (born 1973) is an American-born Israeli business leader and government advisor. He is the former Bureau Chief and the current Chief of Staff of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Life and career
Ari Harow was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, but moved with his family to Israel in 1985, at the age of 12 years. Following his schooling, he served in the Golani Brigade, an infantry unit in the Israel Defense Forces. Harow then returned to the United States in order to complete a psychology degree at the City University of New York. He completed his studies earning an MA in Political Science at Tel Aviv University before living in New York for three years. During his time there, Harow ran the American Friends of Likud from 2003 to 2006, guiding the organization during a period of change in the party.
In 2007, Harow was appointed as foreign affairs advisor to Likud Party chairman Benjamin Netanyahu. In this role, Harow was responsible for implementing Netanyahu’s foreign policies, having advised Netanyahu on foreign policy in an informal capacity for several years previously. Harow was appointed as Netanyahu’s Bureau Chief in 2008, controlling the Prime Minister’s schedule, attending and advising Netanyahu on almost all of his meetings. During this time Harow was known for his administrative prowess and political acumen. Not only was Harow credited for putting the Prime Minister's office into smooth working order, he was one of Netanyahu's most trusted advisers. Harow has been referred to as Netanyahu's "right hand man."
In 2010, it was rumoured that Harow would serve as the deputy director-general of Israel’s Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs Ministry. Instead, Harow founded 3H Global, an international government relations firm based in Israel which helps companies, organizations, and governments achieve their goals through a range of services. Clients come from government, global leaders, and a variety of industries including energy, transportation, real estate, infrastructure and security. In a personal capacity, Harow continues to advise Israeli government ministers and has also provided counsel to world leaders including Former Prime Minister of Spain, Jose Maria Aznar, US Presidential candidate Governor Mitt Romney and Former Commander of British Forces in Afghanistan, Colonel Richard Kemp. /*
