Biography

Antonín Kammel (April 21, 1730 – 5 October 1784 or 1785) was a composer and violinist. His best-known composition is String Quartet no. 2.

Kammel was born at Běleč, now in the Czech Republic. He was part of the social circle of the leading 18th century London concert impresarios, Johann Christian Bach and Carl Friedrich Abel. He also performed at provincial musical festivals, leading the orchestra at Salisbury in 1771. He died in London in 1784/5.
