Biography
Andreas Wollbold is a German Professor and Chair of pastoral theology at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich.
Early life and career
Wollbold was born in 1960 in Saarbrücken and was one of the six children who attended St. Thomas More and St. Michael Parishes. In 1978 he became an Abitur in Ludwig Maximilian gymnasium and from 1978 to 1986 he was a presbyter and Studium in philosophy and theology in Rome, Trier, the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich and Savitribai Phule Pune University, and eventually becoming a patrologist with Licentiate in Theology degree which was awarded to him by Priest Basil Studer.
In 1984 Wollbold became a presbyter at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Trier and from 1986 to 1989 he served as chaplain in Neunkirchen, Saarland. In 1989, Wollbold had become a pilgrim chaplain in Klausen, Germany and by 1997 had obtained Doctorate degree from the University of Trier and was in Habilitation of the University of Freiburg and had served on the advisory board of the Catholic Women Society in Trier. From 1997 to 2003, Wollbold had served as professor of pastoral theology and as religious pedagogue at the University of Erfurt. There, he serves as a librarian of the Heimat Parish and was the lecturer for Pope Benedict XVI, John Paul II and Joachim Meisner.
He and Ludwig Schick had participated at the Second Vatican Council meeting.
In 2017 he spoke at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Regensburg on the subject of "Obedience and Loyalty - Principles and Probation in the Light of Amoris laetitia".
