Biography

In Greek mythology, Amyclas (/əˈmaɪkləs/; Ancient Greek: Ἀμύκλας) was a king of Sparta, the son of Lacedemon and Queen Sparta and brother of Queen Eurydice.
According to Pseudo-Apollodorus, he was the husband of Diomēdē and father of Prince Hyacinth and King Cynortas; according to Pausanias, he was also the father of Queen Laodamia or Leaneira, wife of Arcas, eponymous hero of Arcadia. He was the mythical founder of Amykles in central Laconia.
